BUSINESS EXPERT, MANAGEMENT, SENIOR EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP
Dick McDermott brings over twenty-five years of business experience, from entry-level management through senior executive leadership. Throughout his career in personnel management, he concentrated on executive assessment, leadership, and organizational structure.
Mr. McDermott’s early business career focused on personnel management, labor relations, and recruitment for the Chicago and North-Western Railroad. There, he advanced from Assistant Employment Officer to Division Manager Human Relations in less than four years.
Upon transitioning from the railroad, Dick entered the retained executive search industry with Peat Marwick & Mitchell CPA’s. Returning to Chicago, Mr. McDermott continued his executive recruiting career with the distinguished international search firm Paul Ray & Company of Fort Worth, Texas. Promoted to Equity Partner, he focused his search experience in several industries including insurance, technology, automotive and truck manufacturing, and telecommunications. Of particular note is Mr. McDermott’s expertise in providing family-held and private businesses with the leadership skills to transition to market-driven, publicly held status.
Dick’s non-profit experience also includes several years on the board of directors of Central DuPage Pastoral Counseling Center in Wheaton, Illinois, where his major role was responsibility for fund-raising and financial operations.
A double Major in Psychology and Education from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Dick is married to his wife Pearl McDermott and they currently reside in Stuart, Florida.
